The browser that doesn't watch you back.

A calm, sidebar-first browser built around privacy. Ads and trackers blocked out of the box. AI that stays off until you ask.

AI is off. Nothing on this page is read by a model.

Interactive mock. Click tabs, Spaces, the shield, the tab layout and the AI switch.

02 / WHY SWITCHWHAT PEOPLE HATE ABOUT CHROME

Chrome got louder. We got quieter.

01Ad blocking

The annoyance: Ad blockers got weaker.

Chrome's Manifest V3 switch turned off full uBlock Origin in 2025. uBO Lite has rule caps and no default cosmetic filtering.

Blocking lives in the engine.

Blocking is built into the browser, not bolted on as an extension. It handles network and cosmetic filtering with EasyList, EasyPrivacy and uBO-style rules, and extension API changes cannot switch it off.

02Ownership

The annoyance: The browser is run by an ad company.

Google dropped Privacy Sandbox in Oct 2025 and kept third-party cookies.

No ads business, no telemetry by default.

Third-party cookies blocked, fingerprinting randomised, tracking parameters stripped from links, Global Privacy Control sent on every request, bounce-tracking blocked.

03AI

The annoyance: AI pushed into everything.

Gemini shortcuts and panels with no clean off switch.

AI is off until you turn it on.

One switch. Local model first. Nothing on a page goes to a model unless you invoke it.

04Memory

The annoyance: RAM and battery.

Tabs sleep.

Background tabs freeze after 15 minutes. A per-tab memory meter sits in the sidebar, and whole Spaces can hibernate.

05Tabs

The annoyance: Tab overload.

Tabs tidy themselves.

Auto-archive after 12 hours (adjustable), a searchable archive, and Spaces for separate contexts.

06Noise

The annoyance: Cookie banners, notification prompts, autoplay.

Quiet by default.

Cookie banners auto-rejected and hidden. Notification permission requests collapse into a small chip. Autoplay with sound is blocked.

07Accounts

The annoyance: Account and sync pressure.

No account needed.

Optional end-to-end encrypted sync. One-click import of bookmarks, history and pinned tabs from the browser you use today.

08Longevity

The annoyance: Browsers that get abandoned.

The sunset pledge.

If Noctarc ever stops active development, the browser shell is released as open source so users are not stranded.

The name

Night, and the curve of the sky.

/nok·tark/ — noct, the Latin root of nocturnal, joined with arc, the curve of the night sky.

03 / FEATURESBUILT FOR FOCUS

Everything in its place.

Vertical tabs, or classic ones

Tabs live in the sidebar by default, with room for long titles and Spaces. Prefer a tab strip along the top? Switch to horizontal tabs in one click, per window.

Spaces

Separate contexts, each with its own pinned tabs, theme and, optionally, cookie jar.

Improvement: each Space can be a privacy container, so Work logins never see Personal.

Peek & Quick Window

Open external links in a small floating window, then keep them or close them without losing your place.

Command bar

⌘T for tabs, history, commands and actions. Works without AI, and takes natural-language commands with AI on.

Split view

Up to 4 panes, saved per Space.

Tweaks

Restyle or hide parts of any site. Stored locally and shareable as files.

Auto-archive

Tabs you don't revisit leave on their own. Auto-archive after 12 hours (adjustable), with a searchable archive.

Tabs sleep

Background tabs freeze after 15 minutes. A per-tab memory meter sits in the sidebar, and whole Spaces can hibernate.
